The boot makes no heat. It gives yours back.

There is no battery and nothing to charge. Under your foot sits a heat-reflecting footbed — felt-covered, with a Warmtex lining above it — and its whole job is to turn your own warmth around before it escapes into the ground. The fleece holds it there. That is the entire trick, and it is why the boots are named after it.

Where the warmth actually goes

Read the stack from the top down. The waterproof upper keeps weather out, the pile or fleece lining traps air around the foot, and the felt-covered footbed turns radiated heat back up instead of letting the sole sink it into the snow.

Nothing here is heated, so nothing here can fail on a cold morning. The trade-off is that the boots only work as well as the socks and the fit — a boot crushed tight has no trapped air left to warm.
